Flowers by Paulette has been a fixture in the heart of Lancaster city for nearly 30 years. Located between the burgeoning art galleries of Gallery Row and the funky stores of North Queen Street, our shop is right in the center of any visit to downtown Lancaster. We’re also just a few blocks from the newly opened Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Our shop is consistently ranked as “Among the Best Florists” in Lancaster County and has been chosen in each of the last two years (the first two years the category was awarded) as the “Best Wedding Florist” in Lancaster County.
Despite the difficult
economic conditions that have existed since we took ownership of this shop 6
years ago, our business continues to grow, which we believe is due to our
continued focus on product quality, customer service, design creativity, and our
continuing involvement in our community. In addition, we’ve been fortunate to be
able to merge two other downtown shops into our business in the past couple
years. In September of 2010, we merged Lancaster’s oldest florist – Fries
Flowers – and in January of 2013 we brought The Petal Company
on board. Not only has this increased our customer base, but it has added
experienced talent to our staff.

In addition to our wide assortment of fresh and silk flower arrangements, Flowers by Paulette offers a variety of gift items including gift baskets, dish gardens, unique glass and ceramic vases, personalized glassware, locally designed pottery and locally made Miesse chocolates. Upscale a basic lovely floral arrangement with one of our exclusive vases for a really special gift!
We are very active in supporting charities and giving back to the community whenever we can. It’s been our policy to give back at least 15% of our profits each year. We do this in a variety of ways. We provide free or reduced-cost flowers to many organizations either as decorative components for events or as prizes for raffles or volunteers. We have raised thousands of dollars for a variety of charities. On a local level, each Mother’s Day we promote one of the several homes assisting single women with children, providing checks for 5% of our M-day sales. In each of the last three years we have had a fundraiser for the Amani Children’s Foundation, whose work supports orphanages and the promotion of adoption for children with aids in Kenya. We’re proud to have raised over $6000 just for this organization during this time. Every year we have sponsored multiple blood drives for the American Red Cross, donating bouquets of carnations and discount coupons to all blood donors. We provide free flowers to a group of cancer patients who are in a program that helps them readjust to everyday life after going through difficult treatment programs.
In 2012, we served as Lancaster County’s floral representative for the national Memorial Day Flowers program which began at Arlington National Cemetery in 2011. Last year we worked in conjunction with American Legion Post #34 in organizing a program that included the placement of 1200 roses, one on each veteran’s grave, in Lancaster Cemetery. In 2013, this program will be expanded.
As we move into 2013, we
will continue with our community outreach as well as finding new ways and more
interesting products to service our customers even better than we do today. If
you’ve never tried our shop, please give us a call or stop in and talk to our
staff. We’d love to have you join our growing community of customers and
